Geusundae (그슨대)

Along the night roads of the southern coast, a shadow drifts that people are reluctant to name at all. At first it appears to be nothing more than a very tall figure. But the moment you raise your eyes toward it, it grows.

The being known as Geusundae stands clothed in darkness itself. Its shape resembles a human, yet the proportions are wrong, and the longer you watch, the higher it rises, as though it means to impale the sky. The more you crane your neck searching for the crown of its head, the farther that crown recedes.

It is sometimes classed among the same lineage as the Eodugsini, though Geusundae is far more deliberate in its malice. It quietly redirects the steps of those it has bewitched — toward the edge of a cliff, toward the surface of dark water. Whether it is guiding them or pulling them, its victims never manage to understand this, even at the very end.

Only two countermeasures are said to exist. Shine a light directly into it, or withdraw your gaze entirely. If you do not look, it cannot grow. Perhaps Geusundae is nothing more than what fear itself raises up, inch by inch, into the dark.
